In “Remix,” Miriam Cabessa opens art books from her personal library — and paints directly on their pages. Her gestures of body, breath, and movement respond to what is already there,
creating a living dialogue between past and present, between the act of painting and the history it encounters.
Edited and curated by Aya Miron (formerly Senior Curator at the Israel Museum), the book brings together over 200 works selected from an extensive series. It unfolds as a visual journey through layers of time and color. Reading it is an invitation to step into the artistic process itself, to witness how art is continually renewed from what once was.
Unique to Remix:

The internal content is printed and identical in all copies — yet each book is a one-of-a-kind artwork. Cabessa painted each cover individually in oil paint, ensuring that no two copies are alike. Every book is an original creation, a singular artwork bearing the direct touch and signature of the artist.
